Syn3h Beta - Ansible

This week's primary announcement is that Syn3h is now distributed via code-signed, optimized, architecture-aware, update-enabled installers for Mac, Windows, and Linux! Shout out to our friends at BitRock, Cross Platform Installers for making this possible.

More new features:​

• Completely redesigned postprocessing effects pipeline for "Good" and above visual quality levels. New effects include filmic tonemapping, adaptive contrast, and high-quality motion blur.
• New automatic vehicle lighting system, which currently turns off the headlights during the day and dims the windscreen forcefield after dark.
• New automatic vehicle braking system, which will bring vehicle to a stop when you have no throttle input and are traveling at a near-stationary speed. This is fantastic for watching sunsets.
• New world regeneration system, which CREATES EVERY WORLD FROM SCRATCH each time you enter it. Explore forever. You will never see the same lake or mountain twice. The starting time of day is also now randomized for every adventure.
• Nvidia Ansel integration for high-res GUI-free screenshot and 360 panorama captures from inside Syn3h. (You'll need a modern Nvidia GPU to take advantage. Learn more here)
• Optimized installer filesizes, shrinking them by an average of over 25%.
• Our new Terms of Service and Privacy Policy have been added to the site.
• There are now three different infinite worlds to explore.
• Brighter moonlit nights.

Items we're still working on:

• A camera logic rewrite is underway! This week's build includes the ability to orbit your vehicle and zoom in or out of it using your mouse cursor and scrollwheel. Next week's release will have the new camera system perfected, but in the mean time it will occasionally show underneath the terrain and may not always point where you want.

• Skies look too bright when viewed from underwater in "Good" or above visual quality. Next week's release will include significant upgrades to the underwater experience.
  
  
• Terrains may begin flickering black and white when you explore a far distance from the starting point in each world. A fix is already in the works.
